The ability to taste the wine opens a window of knowledge and experience. When you get to hear and learn from the winemakers themselves, it raises the experience to another level. Here at Buon Vino our tastings feature winemakers, winery owners and founders, and master sommeliers. We pack in as much knowledge as we can and we bring it right from the source of the wine’s creator. There is nothing better than to hear how history, trial and error, and chance have shaped the wines we have grown to love. Though Champagne is thought to be a celebratory beverage, I choose to live by the idea that every day is worth finding something to celebrate, and these wines will be perfect for doing so!

A Vintage Explored: 2020 in Bordeaux

In my tenure here, I've had the wonderful opportunity to start a number of tasting series, that I've called the 'Explored' series, thus far we have done deep dive into varieties, and countries, and to my great pleasure, we have the opportunity to explore a single vintage for a region, Bordeaux.

To not give too much away, the 2020 vintage for Bordeaux was a stellar one, and one that will do very well with some bottle age. I personally don't trust a recommended drinking window, since all of us have different palates, we will all enjoy it at different stages of its journey, and therefore this is a great opportunity to decide for yourself, when do I want to open these bottles?
