2021 Trisaetum Winery Estate Dry Riesling | $34.99
Ribbon Ridge
The 2024 Trisaetum Estate Dry Riesling from Ribbon Ridge delivers intensity and ripeness with a refined edge, reflecting the warmth of the estate's sun-drenched vineyard. The nose leaps from the glass with layers of white peach, golden apricot, and preserved lime, laced with hints of flinty reduction. On the palate, the wine is taut and expressive, offering tangerine peel, green papaya, and crushed stone. A whisper of sea breeze and saline minerality adds depth and speaks to the vineyard's marine sedimentary soils. There's clarity in its structure, with zesty acidity sharpening each note without overpowering the fruit. The dry finish is brisk and persistent, leaving behind impressions of citrus oil, crushed herbs, and chalk dust.
2022 Paul Hobbs Crossbarn Pinot Noir | $29.99
Sonoma Coast
Brilliant, deep ruby red in color, the 2022 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir opens with aromas of pomegranate, cranberry, and crisp red apple skin, perfumed with hints of delicate florals and forest floor. Harmonious layers of plum, raspberry, and Morello cherry lift the well-focused palate, while bright acidity and fine-grained tannins add tension to the long, refreshing drink.
2018 Artadi Tempranillo Vinas de Gain | $27.99
Rioja
The young red 2018 Viñas de Gaín follows the same philosophy as the white, grapes from a variety of vineyards in Laguardia and Elvillar ferment in oak and stainless steel vats followed by malolactic in barrel and an élevage in oak of nine months. It showcases the serious and fresh style of the best wines from the year. It has cold fruit and a very fine thread in the palate, fine tannins, long and balanced, very fresh. It has depth and complexity. A very good wine, it transcends its price point, like an upgraded version of the 2016.
2021 Chateau Fortia Cuvee du Baron | $54.99
Chateauneuf-du-Pape
Intense ruby red color with purple reflections. The very first nose is very mineral: ink, schist. Then with aeration, all the dark fruitiness develops: ripe blackcurrant, cherry jam, bay leaf and Espelette pepper. The palate is remarkably balanced, with great density but elegant. The sweetness softens the tannic sensations, the mineral tension tightens the wine to infuse it with beautiful energy. The tannins are voluminous but very silky. Very persistent. Notes of black fruits, olive, and graphite at the end.
2021 Lexington Wine Co. Gist Ranch Estate Cabernet | Sale $59.99 Retail $80
Santa Cruz Mountains
The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Gist Ranch was blended with 14% Cabernet Franc and 10% Merlot. It begins with a lush, compelling nose of black fruits, oiled leather, dried thyme and oak influence. The palate is velvety, supple and concentrated, concluding with an impactful finish laced with lifted acidity and persistent but measured tannins. Surely in need of at least 4-5 years in the cellar, this should please fans of ripe but balanced Cabernet.
