Buon Vino Guests,
We invite you to come and to a special tasting that Adam has been workshopping for months, but we encourage you to save room for dessert!
This year, our Valentines day tasting will be held the Saturday after at 7:00 P.M., and we will be doing something a little different. This year, Adam wants to take you on a special Journey through the world of dessert wine, and what better way to do that exists than getting to pair it to artisanal desserts from local restaurants!
Dessert wines are often misunderstood, but my goal is to show you the beauty of these wines, and how they can take the best part of any meal, and make it better!

Course 1:
Olive Oil Cake Provided by Barcelona Wine Bar
Royal Tokaji 'Late Harvest'
This amber-colored late-harvest wine from Tokaj has aromas of honeycomb and white flowers, especially jasmine and freesia. In the mouth, it has nice fruit sweetness and flavors of clover honey, ripe apricot and yellow peach.
Course 2:
Artisan Frommage Selection
2009 Chateau Guiraud 1er Grand Cru Classe, Sauternes
#5 Wine Spectator Top 100 of 2012
This is a bird of a different feather, with an exotic, vibrant aroma of toasted coconut, followed by an almond cream note that gives way to the core of green fig, papaya, Cavaillon melon and honey. There's stunning richness and mouthfeel, with the power to be one of the longer-lived wines of the vintage. Very impressive. Best from 2015 through 2040.
Palate Cleanser:
NV Segura Viudas Reserva Heredad, Penendes
The Segura Viudas Reserva Heredad Cava Brut has lightly smoky opening aromas with touches of biscuit and hints of honey and flower petals. The palate is excellent, fruity, and full of flavor, delivering a delightful sense of abundance.
Course 3:
Dark Chocolate Cheesecake with Pistachio Cream & Toffee Crumbles from Bavette
W&J Graham's 20 year Tawny Port
On the nose, it shows an excellent bouquet with a characteristic ‘nutty’ character and delicious mature fruit with hints of orange peel. On the palate, it is rich, softly sweet and smooth, perfectly balanced, with a long and elegant finish.
Blandy's 10 Year Malmsey Madiera
Blandy's 10-Year-Old Malmsey Madeira has intensely concentrated nutty, caramel, and honeyed flavors. Although it is a rich, fortified wine, it finishes bright due to Madeira's higher acidity.
Course 4:
Vanilla Beam Ice Cream
